The Intelligence Community-Center of Excellence (or IC-CAE) grant, is a highly competitive government mandated grant program run by the Department of Defense. They award grants to selected four-year universities with the aim of supporting defense and intelligence-focused curricula. UNC is the latest recipient of this grant (awarded in Fall 2014) and will receive $1.86 million over the next five years to create a regional center of excellence in intelligence studies, together with the Triangle Institute for Security Studies, NC State University, NC Central University, and Duke University.
