October 25, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
Meg Mackenzie Prior presents documentary film coverage and photography, recorded over the past 10 years, that reveals
truth and cultivates understanding about the War in Afghanistan.
Meg Mackenzie Prior is a combat photographer and filmmaker who has embedded with US Army Infantry, Combat Aviation and Special Forces Units to record the missions and operations conducted by International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan beginning in 2010 with the Surge.
Over the past 10 years, Meg has filmed and photographed US Military and the Afghan population with uncompromising clarity and attention to detail as to the nature of conflict in Afghanistan. She has deployed with units for months at a time each year between 2010 and 2017 and chronicled more than 350 combat missions.
Americans are asked to “support the troops”, but they do so with little exposure and understanding to the servicemembers they support. Meg Prior and Outside the Wire Productions (OTW) engages military and civilian audiences to foster a greater understanding of the war environment the experiences of those who serve. OTW films, video vignettes and photography create narrative arcs that visually reveal our nation’s experience in Afghanistan. The goal of this presentation is to provide exposures from war to draw attention and offer informational captures to encourage critical thinking and promote dialogue.
